BLOCKADES RETURN JUNE 13. Let's prepare to engage in civil resistance in the face of government inaction on the climate emergency. At this event, you will be trained in the essentials of nonviolence and the effectiveness of nonviolent direct action, including what to expect at the blockade site (how to react to police and angry members of the public) and a legal briefing. After this event, attendees will be shuttled to the blockade to help hold the position. -------- Location: Topaz Park Topaz Ave & Finlayson Street & Blanshard Street, Victoria, BC --------- Accessibility: • There is paved access to the greenspace area at sidewalk height, and some paved pathways through the park. • The public washrooms and parking lot near Topaz Avenue and Blanshard Street are closed for the duration of construction on the skate and bike parks.
