Hope for Nature procession

Details

Many of you will remember our moving and inspiring Mothers’ Day march in 2019. Malvern Extinction Rebellion are planning another procession through central Malvern, to raise awareness of the immense threat to all living things – the often overlooked “ecological emergency”. This time we want people to come dressed as animals or plants! We will be joined by the beautiful “Coat of Hopes” which is touring the UK, following its amazing journey by foot from Newhaven on the south coast of England to Glasgow for COP 26. We need to raise the alarm! Join us on Saturday July 9th. We will start at 11am on the lower slopes of the hills from St Anne’s Well café, and we will process down through the town, eventually ending at Malvern Priory Church grounds around 1pm. There we’ll hear from inspiring speakers, telling us about the ecological emergency and there will be a chance to admire the “Coat of Hopes” close up, and even try it on. The Coat of Hopes will actually start its journey down the hills from the Worcestershire Beacon at 10am. You’re welcome to start then too if you like. Bring a picnic to eat among the beautiful trees in the church grounds. We invite you to wear costumes or masks inspired by nature. Plants? Animals? Whatever you like. A fun, family friendly event, with a serious message. We hope to see you there!
